Verification Policy

Exactly what the verified mark means — and the limits of it.

Applies to: Buyers relying on verification, and businesses applying for it.

What we check

That the business has provided a company registration document consistent with the name and details on its profile.

That tax or PAN/VAT documentation, where provided, is consistent with that registration.

That any additional document requested during review — proof of trading address, an export licence, a certification — is legible, current and consistent with the rest of the application.

What we do not check

We do not audit finances, assess creditworthiness, inspect premises, test product quality, or confirm production capacity.

We do not verify with any government registry directly, and we make no claim of government endorsement.

We do not guarantee that a verified business will perform any particular contract.

How a review works

A business submits documents, and the case enters a queue. A named administrator claims it, so exactly one person is responsible for it.

The reviewer checks each document individually and either accepts it, or rejects it with a reason the applicant can act on.

If something is missing or unclear, the reviewer requests it specifically. The review pauses until the business responds.

A case can only be approved once every document has been checked and nothing is outstanding.

Possible outcomes

Approved — the verified mark is shown on the public profile.

Changes requested — something specific is needed before a decision can be made.

Declined — with a written reason. A business may submit a new application afterwards.

Suspended — a previously verified business may lose the mark if we learn something that contradicts the basis for it.

How long it takes

We aim to make a first decision within two working days of submission. A case awaiting information from the business is paused and does not count toward that.

If you disagree

Every decision comes with a reason. Reply to it and ask for a review; a different administrator will look at the case.
